2010 TRIP TO THE RHONE VALLEY, FRANCE

March 2010 we travelled to France visiting Paris, the Alsace and the Rhone Valley.  Chave is one of the cultivars planted in our vineyard and so we were particularly interested to visit the Rhone Valley to see where the cultivar originated from and to taste the wines of this region.  We had an amazing time and bought some beautiful wines home with us.

The Chave vineyards in the Northern Rhone are well known for their Hermitage wines which are made from Syrah. Jean-Louis Chave is one of the top winemakers of the Rhone Valley in France.

We were exceptionally lucky to meet Natacha Chave, winemaker, Aleofane Saint-Joseph Crozes-Hermitage and to discuss syrah winemaking while barrel tasting samples from her latest vintages.

We recommend you try her wine, she is located in La Burge, 26600 Mercurol, France.
